Mount Babylon Wines
Mount Babylon falls under the appellation of Walker Bay and rubs shoulders with prestigious wineries such as Bouchard Finlayson, La Vierge and Creation. Historically the area was mainly renowned for its outstanding Chardonnay and Pinor Noir; over recent years however, producers have proved that the cool, maritime conditions are equally suited to the successful cultivation of other varieties. Mount Babylon’s maiden SMV is a shining example.
The vineyards that yielded the grapes for this unique wine are planted some 350 metres above sea level, close to the Atlantic Ocean.

Mount Babylon SMV
Attractive, bright red tones in colour. Aromas of mocha and perfumed spice follow through on the vibrant and textured palate where elegant, minerally tones add to the appeal. Also adding to the attraction is the fact that the wine is already smooth and accessible, but with well-integrated tannins promising excellent maturation and will reward with up to 7 years’ bottle maturation. Wonderful with red meat such as Kudu Carpaccio and Beef Biltong Shavings.
